Q.  What sort of timber is available with FDC?
A.
 Timber of various species like Deodar, Kail, Fir and Chir etc. used in building construction, industries and furniture making is available with FDC both in logs and scants form.

Q.  How the timber can be purchased from FDC?
A.  
Timber can be purchased at the FDC Timber Markets established at Chakdara District Dir (lower) and Goharabad Havelian District Abbottabad. Open auction of timber is conducted in both the markets twice a month, wherein any body can participate who desire to purchase timber. Schedule of auction is notified quarterly through newspapers and this website.

Q.  How the timber would be transported, when purchased.
A.  
Timber purchased at FDC Timber Markets can be transported to any place down the country accompanying the Challan issued by FDC Timber Markets which can be produced at the forest check posts on the way on demand.

Q.  What is the difference between FDC produced timber and others?
A.
 The timber offered for sale by FDC is of good quality and obtained from genuinely marked trees/legal sources and have no fear while transporting to its destination etc.

Q.  Who can to get the works of FDC as work contractor for harvesting of various forests?
A.
 Registered work contractors can participate in the tender proceedings.

Q.  Who can work as work contractor for harvesting of forests?
A.  Any individual or firm enlisted with FDC as carriage contractor can take part in tender proceedings for award of harvesting contract.

Q.  How the contracts are awarded?
A.
 The concerned Manager Forest Operations advertise the harvesting and carriage in newspaper and invite tenders from the FDC registered contractors. The lowest and reasonable bidder gets the contract.

Q.  What is the registration procedure for contractor in FDC?
A.
 Manager Forest Operations of the Corporation of respective circles register the contractors in various categories after fulfillment of codal formalities such work experience, bank deposits, property certificate etc.

Q.  What type of machinery is available with FDC and how it can be leased out to private parties specially earth moving machinery and harvesting machinery? 
A.
 Cable cranes are rented out and installed by FDC to its harvesting contractors on fixed rates per cft approved from time to time. Earth moving machines are rented out to private party on per hour rate basis after approval of respective MFO. Earth moving machines are available with FDC Workshop Mansehra only.

Q.  What are the professional cadres available in FDC? 
A.  FDC staff is highly qualified and experienced in various professional cadres like Forestry, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, IT and Audit etc.

Q.  What is the recruitment procedure for these jobs?
A.
 Vacancies, when available, are advertised in newspapers. The applications received are short listed on the basis of qualification and experience in light of the procedure laid out by the Provincial Govt. The candidates have to appear in a screening test arranged by FDC or NTS. The shortlisted candidates then appear before the FDC High Power Departmental Selection Committee for interview. The candidate securing maximum score in written and interview is offered the job and is purely on merit basis.
